Tons of stuff to look at, barely enough FASHIONABLE product for plus women. I've honestly seen many of the same items for months that haven't sold. I'd like to be able to buy things that fit that don't make me look like I'm either 50+ or sloppy since I'm 33 and work for corporate America. I've recently stopped going because I haven't found anything good since spring

I took in brand name clothes with price tags that the only reason I took there vs return to the store is bcuz it was a gift from family that didn't realize how much weight I had lost & there was no local location & so my family member suggested me trying to sell/trade the clothing at a 2nd hand store & getting something else since still had the price tags & it would be cheaper than paying the postage to return items to her, have her exchange & send clothes back. We figured we'd only lose a Lil of the value by going this route. Just 1 item new was marked about $40 for 1 skirt I can't recall the brand right now but I had approx $150 worth of brand new clothing (3 items total) 1st I was told it would be approx1-2 hr wait for them to look at my 3 items & give me an estimate then I was offered something like only $5 cash or $8 store credit if Im remembering correct & when I refused & was ready to pick up my items, I was walking thru the store as I waited, some 1 had already removed 1 of the original price tags off 1 of the pieces if clothing I brought in & didnt decide to sell them at such an absurd price. Not to mention the sales clerks seem to ne gossiping among themselves more than helping customers. A previous visit, I took 1 pair of jeans to try to sell, they were & are still very much still in style but I could no longer wear bcuz I lost too much weight & was told I had to wait at least 30 min for them to look at just to be told that style isn't currently selling well, btw, 2 people in the store shopping asked about the jeans as I was walking twd the door (was I buying them or selling them) & a sales clerk was wearing similar style that very dadayThe jeans were clean so that couldn't have been an issue. I feel like this store or the employees there has its 'clicks' almost like when your a kid in freakn school & if u don't fit into their club then they don't buy from you or at least don't buy at a fair price, they try to rip you off & you can't a thing about it unless you prove they steal from u! But u can't MAKE some 1 buy things from u. Thing is, when they do this, they are only hurting themselves!

I have been shopping at Clothes Mentor for about 3 years in three different cities, Columbia SC, Rock Hill SC and here in Wilmington. I was so very disappointed in the Wilmington store. Never have I experienced such rude employees at a Clothes Mentor store. They were dismissive of me in general, I am not sure if it is because I didn’t look good enough for them, or possibly they felt I was too old to be there, whatever it was, I was not their target audience. I probably didn’t look wealthy enough, which is too bad for this CM store, I buy all the time at second hand stores. I brought in clothes that were no more than 15 months old and were told they were not “the right thing” for their store. I find this interesting as most everything came from Belk, I worked there the Christmas of 2016 and bought way too much stuff. So I have high end name brand stuff in sizes 6-8 and it’s not right? Or maybe you need to be kind to those who bring clothes in. They actually told me to wash a pair of pants I had never worn! I will not be back, no reason to slum it in the bad part of town.
